The soldiers were locals. The commander was from Negeri Sembilan. When the enemies were about to strike, the Melaka commander [a native Negeri Sembilan] instead of yelling "SERANG!" to his soldiers, he yelled "SORANG!" [serang = attack]
So the obidient soldiers ran charging to the enemies one by one. Of course these soldiers were easily killed.
ps: The joke was narrated by Us. Hashim - IPIS during the closing ceremony of the course held at Seri Malaysia, Port Dickson. It was much more funnier ........
