All seats were taken! Anum, Fathiyah and many late comers had to stand to watch the competition.The First Phase of the competition was held on 13 Dec 08 (Saturday) at Metro Point Kajang. Anum, Amirul & I arrived just in time for the announcement of the finalist. A good number of old timers and middle aged were present. They were very supportive and some even waved their hands and tapped their feet when contestants sang their songs.
The winners for the first competition were a husband and wife. They were presented with RM 300 each and eligible for the grand final that will be held in January 2009.
The second phase of the competition was held on the next day at Maju Junction, Kuala Lumpur. More than 100 participated in the preliminary stage. The crowd was bigger than the one in Kajang. Both runner up (male and female categories) who participated in Kajang tried their luck again and were announced winners in the second competition.
The best female singer (winner) for the 2nd. phase of The Nostalgic Klasik National Singing Competition was Pn. Siti Rabeah who came all the way from Johor Bahru. Would you believe me if I tell you that she is 60 years old (young?).
