120529 @ Universal Studios Singapore

Visitors lined up to have their photograph taken with the above character.

Some of the robots welcoming visitors to the studios.

Anum complained that she felt dizzy and vomited a few times after she took the "Human" roller coaster. Within 5 minutes after telling an attendant, she was attended "on-site" by a very polite & professional medical officer.

Her blood pressure, heart rate and even her glucose level was taken.

Anum was wheeled onto an electric buggy and quickly drove into a comfortable sick bay. She rested for nearly 50 minutes before continuing touring the rest of the studios.

We met Tn. Hj. Alias and her wife, Pn. Hjh. Radziah. They drove all the way from Pinggiran Putra (near Putrajaya) and stayed at New York Hotel at Johor Bahru. Pn. Hjh. Radziah and I were once teaching at SK Putrajaya 2, Precinct 9. She is now a senior assistant at SK Precinct 11[3] primary school.

Milo Dinosaur Anyone?

Returning home after attending a wedding exposition in Shah Alam, Nurul, my eldest daughter drove us to an eating area in USJ. She said the outlet was "hot" especially during weekends. Not to disappoint her, we agreed to have a try. After browsing trough the menu, I noticed that the foods and drinks were given outrages names.

I chose to have an ice dinosaur milo. To my surprised it was just an ordinary milo ice which was added with some extra milo on top.

One thing I like about the eating outlet. The innovation used in informing the waiter or asking for services; a simple press of a button on the table [no sound], and a waiter will stand in front of you in a short while.

Discussing and "food tasting" with the prospective caterer for my eldest son's wedding reception.

First hand experience; The cost of hosting a wedding reception is very costly. No wonder brides, bridegrooms and even their parents have terrible headaches in determining the final cost.

Special Dedication

To all the dedicated discipline teachers in schools, please do not feel discouraged during Teacher's Day. I'm sure the above cartoon will be happening to you [most of the time]. A friend told me, if a discipline teacher received  more presents than a class teacher, there is something wrong somewhere.

Konco

As I was driving back to my office after lunch today, I saw this school bus. I'm sure the owner of this bus company have the same roots as mine. In Malay the word "konco" describe bad group of people [gangster]. But in my native mother tongue, "Konco" means good friends.

The Letter

The stunning views from the Prime Minister's office. A straight road to PICC

The "cowboy hat" at the far end of the road is The PICC

Officers from the Prime Minister's office could have a 5 minutes walk to perform their daily prayers at the famous Putra Mosque

The Letter

My family and I have been waiting for this letter for quite some time. Ever since our number, 4075 was announced, we have prepared all the necessary documents. Hopefully our application is successful. InsyaAllah. Ameen.

Retired

Wikipedia defines "retirement"is the point where a person stops employment completely. Many people choose to retire when they are eligible for private or public pension benefits, although some are forced to retire when physical conditions don't allow the person to work any more (by illness or accident).

Recently my friend, En. Baharudin  from the In-service Training Unit retired. I first met him when I transferred to the Educational Planning & Research Division [EPRD].  He transferred to KPI imedietly after the transformation exercise done by EPRD. I moved to Curriculum Development Division before joining KPI in 2010.

Teacher's Day Celebration

The celebration started at 8.15am. Most of the lectures, students [trainee teachers] and administrative staffs attended the function. Even after more than 30 years leaving Language Institute I can still remember the lyrics, the tune and the melody of "Kami Guru Malaysia".

A question: Since when our director becomes a "Wakil Rakyat'?

Any suggestions?

Every Friday, a group of young boys will gather at this location [at the end of Jalan P9 G1/4]. Instead of going for their Friday prayers, they smoke, making jokes [loudly] and trying their latest motorcycle tricks. Most of them are from the neighbouring Presint 9 apartments.

Several questions pop up in my mind.
1. It is the failure of our education system?
2. Was there no emphasis during the moral or Islamic Education classes in schools?
3. Parents failed in "educating"  their children?
4. We as the community failed in correcting or reminding the wrong doings of the children?

The photos are snapped immediately after Friday prayers on 30th. April 2012.

Instead of listening to the "khutbah" and performing the Friday prayers, they disturb the neighbourhood with their loud bikes and laughter.

The location is now marred with graffities on the walls and pavements.
I  pray and hope that non of my family members will be part of such negative activities.

Sendal [Utusan Malaysia: May 2nd. 2012]

An interesting fact that many MUnited fans overlooked.
